The short version
We don't have accounts, we don't run an email list, and we don't sell data. We can't identify you. The only personal information we ever hold is what you choose to put in an email to us.
What we collect
Analytics. We use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand which pages are read and how people arrive. This records things like page URL, referring site, approximate location from IP, and device and browser type. We use it in aggregate to decide what to write about next. Google Analytics sets cookies; Vercel Analytics does not.
Email. If you email us, we hold that email and your address so we can reply. We don't add you to anything.
Server logs. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard request logs including IP addresses, for security and reliability. That's Vercel's processing, governed by their privacy policy.
What we don't collect
- No accounts, logins or passwords — there's nothing to sign up for.
- No energy usage data, meter readings or billing information.
- No bank or payment details. We never take payments.
- No marketing list, and no selling or sharing of data with advertisers.
When you follow our referral link
Our referral link takes you to share.octopus.energy, which is Octopus Energy's own site. Everything from that point — the details you enter, your application, your account — is between you and Octopus Energy, under their privacy policy, not ours. We never see it. All we learn is the aggregate number of people who joined through our link, which Octopus reports back without identifying anyone. How we make money explains the arrangement.
Third parties
- Vercel — hosting and analytics.
- Google Analytics — traffic measurement.
- Google Fonts — typefaces are self-hosted at build time, so your browser makes no request to Google to load them.
- Unsplash — images are served through our own image pipeline.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you, and object to processing. In practice the only such data is email correspondence. Email hello@energymadeeasy.co.uk and we'll deal with it within one month. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to measure traffic. You can block them in your browser settings or with any standard blocker, and the site works normally without them. We set no advertising or tracking cookies of our own.

If this policy changes we'll update the date at the top of the page. Questions go to our contact page.
